Growth
The Baylor Center for Developmental Disabilities (BCDD) was established in 2014 with the primary goal of providing high-quality services to children and their families in the greater Waco area. The Center connected the work of three growing clinics: the Baylor Autism Resource Clinic; the Clinic for Assessment, Research, and Education; and the Spring Literacy Clinic. Each clinic continues to address pressing community needs, provide outstanding training for Baylor students, and conduct applied research. In addition, we have offered numerous workshops, trainings, projects, and other events aimed at supporting individuals, families, and organizations throughout central Texas. We are proud of how our impact and partnerships have grown throughout this first decade.
In this next season, we are growing Baylor as a global leader in interdisciplinary research and training focused on the flourishing of people with disabilities and their families. Our work will be marked by its rigor, its relevance, and its reach. We are actively connecting and supporting faculty, staff, and students from across the university (and beyond) to join in innovative and collaborative work. Specifically:
-
We will advance field-leading interdisciplinary research addressing the diverse experiences and needs of the disability community.
-
We will prepare Baylor graduates to serve and lead communities that are inclusive of people with disabilities through their chosen professions.
-
We will become a faithful community that is accessible to and embraces people of all abilities.
-
We will partner well within and beyond Baylor to promote deep and collective impact.
We invite you to join us in this fruitful work through your time, talents and giving.
