ABA Severe Problem Behavior Program
The Severe Problem Behavior Program supports caregivers in understanding and managing their child's problem behaviors. This is a two-part program that consists of assessment and intervention based in the principles of applied behavior analysis (ABA). The purpose of the assessment is to determine the reason a behavior is occurring (i.e., function). Based on the results of the assessment, an individualized intervention is created to reduce the problem behavior and promote replacement behaviors.
Client Qualifications: The program services children ages 2 to 10 years diagnosed with a developmental disability who engage in any of the following problem behaviors: aggression, self-injury, property destruction, tantrums, and stereotypical behavior (e.g., hand flapping, body rocking). Children who have engaged in problem behavior that has resulted in an injury to self or others that required medical intervention may be referred to a more intensive support program.
