Psychological Assessment
The Baylor Center for Developmental Disabilities (BCDD) offers assessment services that involve the administration of psychological measures to answer a specific referral question involving social, emotional, cognitive, or academic functioning. After testing is complete, the family will be provided with a comprehensive report of the assessment results, including any diagnoses, and recommendations.
Assessments are offered to children and adolescents between the ages of 3-17 years of age. Assessments can be used to evaluate symptoms associated with developmental disabilities and related concerns. For example, assessments can be used to investigate concerns related to:
- Autism Spectrum Disorder
- Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder
- Anxiety
- Depression
- Intellectual Disabilities
- Other social, emotional, or educational difficulties
A complete assessment involves the following:
- Intake interview
- Full day of testing, generally lasting 2-5 hours
- Follow-up feedback meeting to discuss results.
A full assessment costs $500. Insurance is not accepted but sliding scale fees are available for families with financial need. Assessments are conducted in person at the BCDD. To schedule your assessment, please get in touch with our center at 254.710.7677 or email bcdd@baylor.edu.
Assessment services not offered at the BCDD: custody evaluations, mental status and/or court-mandated psychological evaluations, alcohol and drug evaluations, medication/medical management services, hospitalization services, in-patient care, expert witness testimony, and sexual abuse forensic evaluation and interviews.
